Greetings #CelticsHockeyNation,

Our Nation is filled with mixed emotions this morning as we chose today to share the news that our esteemed Technical Director, Steve Power, is moving on from his role with AMHA.

Steve has accepted a year-round position with Glendenning Golf as their General Manager and will wrap up with AMHA at the end of 2021-22 hockey season.  AMHA extends our congratulations to Steve on securing this new role and wishes him unlimited success!

Steve passed on a comment that we are pleased to share… “I’m not going far, just swapping ice for turf and fully expect to see all my hockey family visit me out on the links!”  Steve continued, “When, after 25+ years working with Avalon Minor Hockey, a new opportunity presented itself and I was intrigued and decided to jump in.  I am so grateful for all the relationships, memories, and lifelong friendships forged through my involvement with the Avalon Celtics and minor hockey.”

Steve Power leaves very big skates to fill and we are pleased to inform everyone that this process has begun.  Your Board has formed a search committee and will post our career opportunity ad via various channels in the coming days.

Our Nation is deeply appreciative to Steve Power for his years upon years of service, dedication, and hockey know-how among many other talents!  Steve has contributed immensely to guiding AMHA’s players, coaches, team staff, parents, and volunteers to the successful place where we find ourselves today.

We encourage everyone to give Steve a ‘Stick Tap’ or shout out when you see him next time at DF Barnes Arena!

Good luck Steve!
