We hope the start to your hockey season has been fun so far!  We’re excited to be back on the ice and creating a fun, engaging experience at Feildian Gardens!

As you are aware, on October 8 2021, the Government of NL announced that vaccination passports would be required for many public settings, including Arenas.  The effective date is set for Friday, October 22, 2021.   AMHA and Celtics Centre Hockey Corporation (CCHC / Feildian Gardens) have been working diligently to determine how we can safely and effectively abide by this new Public Health Order.

As a community based, not-for-profit organization, complying with this order delivers significant logistical and financial challenges.  That said, we have a plan that includes positioning staff at the front entrance of the arena AT ALL TIMES DURING PRE-BOOKED ICE SESSIONS to check vaccination passports upon entry.  We have also determined AMHA’s best approach is to engage a third party security company to supply personnel for this task.

Effective Friday, October 22; all individuals, 12 years of age and older, MUST provide proof of vaccination (compatible with the NLVaxPass and NLVaxVerify apps) to enter the arena if they are in the following categories;

  • Team staff: Coaches, managers, volunteers
  • Game officials
  • Parents, guardians, or family members accompanying minor hockey players inside the arena
  • Spectators for practices and / or games

As detailed in the Public Health order, minors aged 18 and under PARTICIPATING in an activity in the arena are exempt from providing proof of vaccination.  Our interpretation of this is we will not request proof of vaccination for minor hockey players attending a session.  However, any family members or guardians (12 & older) accompanying the player will be required to present proof of vaccination.
