Avalon Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) is  very pleased to announce a major development for minor hockey fans and Guests of our Barn:  The Harvey’s Home Heating Warm Room!

Following a recent phase of extensive planning and pre-work, the Harvey’s Home Heating Warm Room is official!  As of May 19 2021, work commenced to significantly improve the spectator experience in our rink.  We are replacing the east end bleacher section with a modern 2-Storey structure featuring the upper level Harvey’s Home Heating Warm Room and two ice level locker rooms featuring the JSM Dressing Room.  As part of the project, the north side rink boards will be reconfigured to provide ice access directly from the new rooms.

Jennifer Binetti, AMHA Sponsorship and Fundraising Committee Chair, commented, “This is a major win for the Avalon Celtics that will significantly improve the Player and Guest experience.  Our Committee and the Association are thrilled that Harvey’s Home Heating and other major corporate partners, JSM Electrical, Northbrook Construction and BDP rentals, have stepped in to fund and deliver this important project.”  AMHA expects to open the new facilities in time for the 2021-22 winter season and complement existing facilities at the rink.  “We are pleased that our  member hockey families and corporate partners have bought into our vision of rink ownership and growing the sport of minor hockey in the Capital region.  The Harvey’s Home Heating Warm Room project is an example of the support we are receiving and just the tip of the iceberg” continued Binetti.

When the Harvey’s Home Heating Warm Room opens for Guests, it will feature over 900 square feet of cozy oil heated space and a comfortable viewing area for minor hockey fans and supporters!  The new JSM Dressing Room will also be a major addition to Feildian Gardens and will provide a spacious, modern room for players to prepare for on-ice sessions and games.

AMHA thanks all member families for your continued support and patience this past season and we promise exciting and fun times ahead for our Club!
