Good day #CelticsHockeyNation,

HOCKEY IS BACK!!

AMHA thanks all members for their continued patience as we have been navigating the latest public health lockdown and quickly evolving sport guidelines.  As many will have seen yesterday, NL Public Health officials announced significant changes to COVID Level and Arena / Sport Guidelines.  AMHA Board and staff have been diligently working behind the scenes to communicate and share information with a variety of government, HNL, and Public Health officials.

At the onset of the latest lockdown, AMHA made an important decision to maintain the ice at Feildian Gardens as long as practical.  Fortunately, given the revised sport guidelines, we are now in a position to resume programming and complete our season. Earlier today Hockey NL also released their guidelines and approval to continue the season up to the end of May.  We are pleased to announce our programming will resume this Saturday, March 27!

As detailed in the Public Health announcement, return to sport and youth activities will be a phased in approach and we will diligently work towards a full return to ‘normal’ in a safe manner as soon as possible.  The initial phase of our return to play will be intra-squad practices, drills, and scrimmages.  We will also be very diligent in closely adhering to the revised sport guidelines to ensure safety and compliance in and around the rink.

We will post updates in our News section and team on-ice sessions will be added to your TeamSnap app in the usual manner starting today.

We appreciate your continued cooperation and patience as we navigate this next phase of the COVID recovery.  Sharpen your skates….. we look forward to welcoming our members back to the rink this weekend!

Stay safe.
