March 20, 2020

It has been a week since Hockey Canada made the unprecedented decision to end the 2019/2020 hockey season.  Over the past week both the Federal and Provincial governments have made widespread decisions to “flatten the curve”.  As a result, all minor hockey associations have respected the call for social distancing by closing their offices and not meeting or carrying on business in person.

We have been fielding questions about refunds, payments, lotteries and jersey/equipment return.  Until the restrictions around social distancing are relaxed associations will not be in position to meet about finances related to the 2019/2020 hockey season.  Assistance with lottery licenses is being sought from the Provincial Government.

Hockey Newfoundland & Labrador recommends that the collection of jerseys and equipment be delayed until social distancing is relaxed.  In the meantime wash your jerseys and store them in a safe place.  Goalie equipment should be clean, dry and stored away for at last 30 days.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.  When new information becomes available we will share it with you.
