Avalon Celtics Coaches Seminar Details Announced! New Details Added!!

This year's edition of the Avalon Celtics coaches seminar will take place August 6 and 7 at Memorial University. All Avalon Celtics coaches or persons interested in coaching minor hockey this season are strongly encouraged to attend this fantastic event!!

Headlining this year's event will be former New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and Calgary Flames coach Mike Keenan! Also making repeat appearances this year will be former NHL coach and current Toronto Maple Leafs Pro Scout Tom Watt, MJAHL Coach Troy Ryan and former UPEI and Team Atlantic Goaltender Coach Mike Smith. New Speakers also scheduled to appear will be former Hockey Nova Scotia Development Chairman Kevin Mitchell and Chief Atlantic Scout for the QMJHL Cape Breton Screaming Eagles Bill Short plus others yet to be confirmed!!

We are now pleased to announce that in conjunction with Hockey Canada and the cooperation of HNL all participants of this year's seminar will have the opportunity to attend an intimate and interactive question and answer session with the 2011 Team Canada World Junior Team Coaches. This session will take place on Saturday August 7 at Mile One Centre. All participants will also be given tickets to the Team Canada Red/White Game later that evening as well as part of the seminar registration package.

The cost to register will be $125 for Avalon Celtics coaches and volunteers. The cost for any other interested participants is $195! The cost to attend one specific presentation will be $40. Registration includes Friday evening social, Saturday hockey game at Mile One and social, seminar golf shirt and seminar technical package.

The Avalon Minor Hockey Association strives to offer one of the most successful hockey programs in Atlantic Canada. The merger of the former Avalon and Celtics associations in 2001 provides us with the experience of volunteers, players, parents, and coaches of two highly respected minor hockey organizations in the St. John's area. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our players and coaches since the birth of the Avalon Celtics in 2001, and are committed to the continued skills development of all our members.

Our minor hockey office is located at O'Hehir arena to assist coaches and players, and parents. Please feel free to take advantage of our resources and meeting room space at any time.
