Registration Update – All Star Tryout Registration Deadline/Pre-Season Camp Information
All Star Tryouts
We are extending our deadline to register for All-Star Tryout until Tuesday, September 3rd at 10:00pm. This is for all age groups (U11, U13, U15). Players who are still involved with U13AAA or U15AAA or U15AA tryouts must email jclark@avalonceltics.com to make us aware. These players will be asked to register as soon as they are released from corresponding camps.
*** Players not registered by September 3 at 10:00pm will not be guaranteed a spot.
All Star Tryout Start Dates
U11 – Sunday, September 15
U13 – Friday, September 20
U15 – Tuesday, September 17 (Tentative)
Pre-Season Camps
The Deadline to register for Preseason Camps will also be Tuesday, September 3rd at 10:00pm. If there are open slots on September 4th, they will be offered to players in other organizations. Tentative schedule below (subject to change). Sessions will be conducted by TD Shawn Newhook and other Avalon Celtics Qualified Coaches.
Groupings will be assigned once pre-season camp registration is complete.

AMHA Information
- Any player wishing to try out for an All-Star Team in U11, U13 or U15 this season must register for All-Star Tryouts by 10:00pm August 28, 2024. This is to allow us time to schedule our Tryouts.
- Pre-Season Camps will start on September 6 or 7, 2024 for U11,U13,U15. September 14 for U9
- All Star Try out, Projected Start Dates:
- U11, U15 – September 15, 2024
- U13 – September 20, 2024
- With the addition of DJHL C teams, AMHA will no longer select “Provincial Teams” in the New Year (aside from U18). All Teams will be selected at the start of the hockey season. The number of All-Star (DJHL) teams selected for each age group will vary, depending on number of players registered and skill level.
- MCHL teams will follow a similar layout to the 2023-24 season with Saturday practices and Sunday Games.
- Girls Hockey – Based on the new DJHL guidelines, girls will have the opportunity to play one of either Minor Hockey or Girls Hockey. The decision on any all girls teams will be made based on registration numbers after August 28 (All Star Tryout Deadline). Any girls who will be members of Avalon Celtics (2015 or older) this season are asked to communicate their desired path for this season. U9 Girls (2016 or younger) will stay in the minor program.
Registration is now open for the 2024-25 season. We are hoping to get a gauge on our registration numbers as early as possible for the upcoming season so we can plan our programs more effectively.

*** We have changed the Registration Fee for 1st time for U7 aged children (2018,2019) to $81.00 this season (Cost of Hockey Canada Fee per player for Sanctioning/Insurance). This will cover registration for our 1 hour per week (approximately 21 sessions) program.
