AMHA welcomes all member families back to the 2021-22 season!

Your Board and Staff have been busy all summer working on all things on ice and off!  We are very pleased with our progress on a number of projects and you will see many improvements to the rink when you hit the ice in a few short weeks.

Our registration system is ready to go and we will open TeamSnap no later than Monday, August 30 for online sign-up.  TeamSnap makes it very straightforward for returning players and we will share all relevant instructions via our News items and web site.

AMHA is very pleased to announce a partnership with Growlers Academy for the 2021-22 season!  AMHA will be offering the Growlers Academy program as our pre-season camp this season and we plan to offer additional Growlers Academy programming throughout the season.  Led by Celtics Alumnus Jeremy Kavanagh and his Team, Growlers Academy pre-season camp is a 6 hour program open to U9, U11, U13, U15 & Female age groups at a registration fee of $135.

Our target registration for the pre-season camp is 20 +/- players and up to 6 goalies per age division. 

The program dates and format are as follows;

Week 1 “Shake the Rust” (Skating and puck handling fundamentals)
Saturday, September 25th 8:00am-1:00pm (all age groups)
Monday, September 27th 7:00-9:00pm (U13, U15)
Thursday, September 30th 4:00-7:00 pm (U11, U9, Female)

Week 2 “Sweat it Out”(Power skating, shooting and passing)
Saturday, October 2nd 8:00am-1:00pm (all age groups)
Monday, October 4th 7:00-9:00pm (U13, U15)
Thursday, October 7th 4:00-7:00pm (U11, U9, Female)

Week 3 “Hockey IQ” (Battle tactics, small area games coupled with situational awareness)
Saturday, October 9th 8:00am-1:00pm (all age groups)
Monday, October 11th 7:00-9:00pm (U13, U15)
Thursday, October 14th 4:00-7:00pm (U11, U9, Female)

Note: U9, U11, U13 and U15 will cover the above themes and the female group skates will focus on puck skills (allows for a female player to register for themed skates along with the specific puck skills with no duplication)

Registration for Growlers Academy will be included in the online registration system when launched and registration will be limited in each age group on a first-come-first-served basis.  We will have plenty more news and updates to share so please bookmark www.AvalonCeltics.com and stay up to date!
